WESTVILLE - A DeFuniak Springs man was taken to the hospital after his truck blew a tire and caused him crash on Interstate 10 Tuesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Gary Lee Martin, 44, was driving his truck in the inside lane of westbound I-10 at about 3:20 p.m. Near mile marker 100, he lost control of his 1996 Mack truck after its front right tire blew out, the FHP crash report stated.
The truck drove into and across the outside lane before spinning in the north shoulder, the report stated.
The truck went airborne and overturned onto its left side.
The truck then slid down an embankment and hit a fence and a tree.
Martin was taken to Bay Medical Center with serious injuries, the report stated.
