A storm to remember (GALLERY)

Hurricane Eloise struck Northwest Florida on Sept. 23, 1975 as a category 3 storm. It was the only hurricane to hit the US in 1975. It caused 76 deaths and over $2 billion in damages. These photos, taken in Panama City Beach where the storm inflicted its worst damage, were obtained from Florida Memory, the state's photographic archive.
