MARY ESTHER — The Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars returns to Okaloosa County next weekend, with performances set for three days at Santa Rosa Mall.
Show times are 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27; 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28; and 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29.
Advance tickets can be purchased at the mall office and online at www.gotothecircus.com. Free tickets for children 12 and under are available at many local businesses.
The public also is invited to watch the raising of the big top about 7 a.m. Friday in the mall’s parking lot.
The Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars is celebrating its 129th edition this year. Some of the new acts include the Fabulous Tabares Troupe from Colombia, a high-wire group; Argentina’s Fassio Family, with their performing canines; and Vicenta Pages and her white tigers.
Returning favorites are Lana & Company and their illusions; the elephants, including 2-year-old Baby Hugo; the motorcycles in the Thunder Drome; and Captain Kellan, the human cannonball. The Bermudez Clown Troupe also will be on hand to delight children of all ages.
Cole Bros. Circus is the largest circus still performed under the traditional big top as well as one of the oldest circuses still touring. The entire caravan, including nearly 50 vehicles, performs in almost 100 cities during the season.
