CRESTVIEW - A man was convicted Thursday for a 2012 home invasion robbery, according to the state attorney’s office.
After a three-day trial, Lemmie Tyler Straughter IV was found guilty of home invasion robbery while wearing a mask, wearing a bulletproof vest while committing a robbery and criminal mischief.
Straughter and two other men kicked open the door of a home on East North Avenue about 2:40 a.m. April 17, 2012, according to reports. They yelled that they were from the Sheriff's Office, stole items from several rooms and fled, according to the state attorney’s office.
Five people, including four children, were in the home.
Crestview police captured the men 10 minutes after a 911 call was made.
Okaloosa County Circuit Judge Michael Flowers will sentence Straughter on Oct. 30.
