NICEVILLE — A fire destroyed a vacant house at 615 Cypress Drive on Tuesday morning.

The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze that started just before 7 a.m., Niceville Fire Chief Tommy Mayville said,

The fire already had engulfed the wood-frame, 1,200-square-foot house by the time firefighters arrived. It was knocked down in about 15 minutes.

The house still had power. Mayville said the cause of the fire is not known.

No one was injured.

Firefighters from East Niceville, Eglin Air Force Base, Valparaiso and North Bay Fire assisted at the scene.

The Cypress Drive fire was the third one for the Niceville Fire Department since Monday night.

Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire on Reeves Street that caused minimal damage and were called to a medical situation at an apartment on Kelly Road when a resident was injured after electrical cords sparked a blaze.
