FORT WALTON BEACH - After a two-day trial, a man was convicted Friday of possession with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver cocaine; possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana; trafficking in oxycodone (4-14 grams); trafficking in hydrocodone (14-28 grams); and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Octavius Mauketh Knight was found guilty after law officers found drugs in his apartment and $10,200 in his safety deposit box at a bank last year, according to the state attorney’s office. A drug detection dog alerted to the smell drugs in the safety deposit box.
Knight also had almost $4,000 on him when he was arrested, the state attorney’s office reported. A drug detection dog also alerted to drugs at that time.
Knight was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail on Aug. 9, 2012, according to jail records.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 15 before Okaloosa County Circuit Judge John T. Brown.
