CRESTVIEW — A 23-year-old man was arrested Monday morning after police tracking dogs found him hiding in the woods.
At about 9 a.m. Monday, Crestview police officers approached Payton Seth Brewer, who lives in McAlester, Okla., in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station located at 3200 South Ferdon Boulevard.
Brewer had been driving a vehicle that was suspected to have been stolen from an address on Bowers Avenue in Crestview, according to police.
Brewer fled into the woods near Lowe’s Home Improvement and hid from officers for over an hour. Using tracking dogs, police located Brewer and arrested him.
He was charged with grand theft automobile and resisting arrest without violence. He was being held in the Okaloosa County Jail with no bond later Monday evening.
