Gulf Power’s new website feature can locate power outages

Gulf Power customers can get real-time information on their computer or mobile phone by going to MyGulfPower.com.

The company’s new online interactive map gives customers the ability to zoom in to find power outages that may affect their homes or neighborhoods.

The map also includes information about the estimated length of each outage. A pop-up window details how many customers are affected and whether a Gulf Power crew is on the way or already on location.

“Studies across the country show customers want this type of information from their utility,” Gulf Power spokeswoman Natalie Smith said in a news release. “This map, which is also accessible via mobile devices, provides estimated times when customer’s power will be restored.

“Customers can see the outages on the map, but you can also report that your power is out or check on the status of restoring your power,” she said.

To watch a video about how to use the interactive map, go to MyGulfPower.com and click on the “How to Use This Map” button at the top of the interactive map page.
