'Hurry up or they’ll be picking up bodies'

NICEVILLE – A man faces charges after he apparently found his wife with a male acquaintance, flew into a rage and threatened them with a handgun, lawmen say.

The incident occurred at an Arrowhead Way residence on July 27. The 40-year-old man entered his residence and found his wife and another man together and became enraged. According to a Niceville Police Department arrest report, the man removed a Glock pistol from the nightstand, pointed it at the man and said, “You have five seconds to get out of here before I put a bullet in your head.”

As the man gathered his belongings, the husband went into the back yard and fired three shots, the report indicated. He then came back inside, pointed the gun at them and said, “Hurry up or they’ll be picking up bodies.”

The woman said her husband pointed the gun at the man’s face and demanded his military ID and commanding officer’s phone number, the report indicated. He then called the commander. After he got off the phone, the woman said she’d be calling the police and her husband allegedly answered, “Good. They’ll be picking up two bodies.” The husband then left and went to the Duke Field area.

The man was charged with aggravated assault (domestic violence) and aggravated assault.

He is expected in court on Aug. 27.
