OKALOOSA ISLAND—Water was shut off to several businesses east of Santa Rosa Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon so Okaloosa County water and sewer crews could repair a water main break.
The break was the result of aging pipes on the island, said Jeff Littrell, director of the water and sewer department.
Crews had repaired the water main by about 9 p.m., but Littrell said full water pressure wouldn’t be available to the businesses until late Tuesday.
Businesses affected included the Emerald Coast Convention Center, The Boardwalk, the Gulfarium, Ramada Inn and the Four Points Sheraton hotel.
Water and sewer personnel had called the businesses to warn them of the water shutoffs.
