FORT WALTON BEACH -- An angry homeowner who threatened a tree-trimming crew with a shotgun Monday afternoon was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill.

Michael Howard Flora, who is 59, yelled at an Okaloosa County tree-trimming crew to get off his property and then told them he was going to get his shotgun, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report. The crew was trimming trees in front of his Marlowe Drive home.

Flora then went into his home, got his shotgun and brought it to the yard, where he pumped a round into the chamber, the report said. He then placed it on his shoulder and pointed it in the air while moving toward the county crew.

When he noticed Okaloosa County deputies, he went and put his shotgun in the house.

He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 27.
