Road conditions in Walton County

Road conditions in Walton County as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

South End:

  • County Highway 30A West end. Water is over the road in several different areas of 30A.
  • Church Street approximately 1/10 of a mile from U.S. Highway 98 is washed out. Approximately 8-10 inches of water on Church Street.
  • Central 8th Street flooding
  • County Highway 393 South a couple of areas is under water, but still passable.
  • Hotz Avenue area of the Red Bar has about 2 inches of water.
  • U.S. Highway 98 and 30A East West Bend outside lane has standing water.
  • Apostle’s Way is under water.
  • County Highway 283 & Logan Lane is flooding
  • Traffic on U.S. Highway 98 from County Highway 393 to Walmart is at a standstill. Backed up all the way to the county line.
  • County Highway 30A East of Lakewood is underwater approximately an inch.
  • Church St at Duffy Land is underwater approximately 6 inches.
  • 264 S Wall St, the beach access #3. Caller advised the road has washed away approxiamately15x4. The sand is also washing away. Public works has been notified.
  • New-Chat Holly & Rhodes Cove has about 8 inches of water over the road.
  • 254 South County Highway 393 has flooding in the parking lot of Sandel Beach Town Homes.
  • New-Wood Beach Drive - water from the wetlands is about 15 feet from a home.
  • 140 Montigo Avenue…Homeowners advised they are flooded in, advised the road is completely under water. Approx. 2 -3ft of water.
  • 30A at Summerset Bridge has water standing on the road way.
  • Quincy Circle on the West side is approximately a foot under water.
  • West Bend lane on U.S. Highway 98 in the area of Forestry has standing water.
  • Pelayo Road caller advised there is heavy flooding.

North End

  • Indian Creek Ranch Rd is still closed.
  • Mosley Lane/ Bob Sikes is washed out.
  • State Highway 81 & Willie Ward Road is underwater in several areas. Signs have been put out.
  • Freeport-Steelfield area.
  • Freeport-Business 331 is under water in several places. Signs have been put out. Heavy water in the area of Business 331 & Industrial Park RD.
  • Freeport-Lagrange and U.S. Highway 331.
  • Freeport- South Jackson Street on the south side the ditch is flooded and running over.
  • Freeport-Kylea Laird and Highway 20 in the turning lane is under water.
  • Freeport-Joe Dugger is under water. Signs have been placed.
  • Freeport-Henry Laird Park is under water. City of Freeport has blocked it off at this time.
  • Freeport- Water at 4-mile Bridge is approx. 2-4 feet away from bridge on State Hwy 20.
  • Freeport- River Road is covered in water in several places. 3-4 inches deep, the boat ramp is also flooded.
  • McKinnon Bridge Road; water is beginning to flow over the road in the area of the double bridges.
  • Freeport-Bunker Road / Steelfield Road: Water over road in numerous locations; road is impassable at this time; signs have been put in place.
  • Four Mile Rd/East Bay Loop. The lift pump light was on. Water was coming out of the sanitary sewer man hole onto the road, about 100 yards from East Bay Loop. City of Freeport has been notified.
  • Freeport-County Highway 3280 & U.S. Highway 331 water is over the road way.
