Report: Woman threw glass at youth, cutting his arm

CRESTVIEW – A 22-year-old woman was charged with child abuse after she allegedly threw a glass at a youth, cutting his arm.

On June 11 Crestview Police were called to a Cobb Avenue residence about the incident, which happened at about 5 a.m., according to an arrest report.

There, they learned the youth and Sophia Brooke Seymour were sitting on the front porch of her residence when they became involved in an argument (the report didn’t say how old the youth was). The argument escalated and resulted in Seymour pushing him off the porch. Seymour’s boyfriend got control of her and escorted her into the residence.

But Seymour came back outside and threw a large drinking glass at him. The glass broke, cutting him on the arm and torso.

Seymour’s boyfriend confirmed this description of the incident.

The victim had several small cuts to his arm and torso, and lawmen found the broken glass in the front yard.

Seymour has a July 23 court date.
