NICEVILLE – A woman who told an officer she didn’t have any marijuana actually had 28 grams of marijuana, according to an arrest report.

On May 14 an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy approached a car on Bayshore Drive that had a burned-out tag light. He stopped the car and because its windows were down, the deputy could smell marijuana coming from inside.

He asked the driver if there was marijuana in the car; the driver said no. He ordered the driver and his passenger, 28-year-old Nakia Gayle Stubblefield of Niceville, to get out of the car.

The deputy asked Stubblefield if she had any weapons or narcotics, and she handed over a pocketknife. He asked if he could look in her handbag, and when he did, he found a plastic bag containing about 28 grams of marijuana.

Stubblefield was charged with marijuana possession over 20 grams. Her court date is June 25.
