Armed robberies reported at two Santa Rosa businesses

Armed robberies were reported at two businesses in Navarre and Avalon over the weekend, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. It is unknown whether the robberies were related.

No arrests have been made.

On Friday, shortly before 2 a.m., two black men robbed the Circle K on Avalon Boulevard, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

One of the men pulled a black revolver halfway out of his pocket and showed it to an employee. He then told the employee to go into the office and give him money.

That man s described as 5 feet, 9 inches, approximately 180 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing a red skull cap, black pants and a dark shirt, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The second  man was described as being approximately 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches with a medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a bandana over his face.

On Saturday about 11:30 a.m. a black man walked through the front door of Navarre Turf on U.S. Highway 98.

He had gloves on and his shirt was pulled up over his nose and mouth, the Sheriff's Office reported.

He pointed a black handgun at an employee who was sitting in the building watching television and demanded money from the register and the safe under the counter.

He was described as about 6 feet tall and skinny and was wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans shorts and black tennis shoes.
