MILTON - Two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary on Panther Drive early Thursday.
The homeowner woke up just before 3 a.m. and noticed her TV and several other items were missing from the home, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. Her vehicle also was burglarized.
Deputies searched the area and a witness at a convenience store reported seeing a suspicious man stay in the bathroom for a while. Deputies found several of the stolen items in the bathroom.
Surveillance video showed a man later identified as Devon Washington of Milton using a stolen credit card, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Washington was spotted at 7 a.m. in a car being driven by Kevin Sherard Smith of Pensacola. The victim’s TV, checkbook, credit cards and identification were in the car along with narcotics and a handgun, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Washington and Smith were charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of larceny. Smith also was charged with cocaine possession and using a firearm during a felony.
