FORT WALTON BEACH – A Honduran man said nothing about a stabbing accusation except “I am sorry; no good; it’s OK,” according to an arrest report.
On May 26 Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies went to a Saddle Creek Drive residence to investigate a report of a stabbing. Once there, they were told by two witnesses that a woman and her boyfriend, 37-year-old Wilmer Hernandez of Fort Walton Beach, had gotten into an argument. The woman said Hernandez pushed her in the chest and onto a bed. She had a small cut above her lip, the deputy noted in the arrest report.
Hernandez and the woman were separated by another witness, who said Hernandez went into the kitchen and returned with a knife. When the witness tried to restrain him, Hernandez stabbed him in the chest. The deputy saw a stab wound in the man’s chest.
Deputies found Hernandez in the area, walking away from the scene. After he was detained, he allegedly said, “No, no knife,” and “I am sorry; no good; it’s OK” over and over again.
He was charged aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and battery.
His court date is July 9.
