FORT WALTON BEACH – A deputy had an easy time finding an alleged car thief – she pulled into the parking lot at the Okaloosa County Courthouse Annex Extension.
On May 13 a woman contacted the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office about a car that had been taken without her permission. She said 24-year-old Chelsey La Keisha Hill of Fort Walton Beach took the car without asking her.
The next day, while the deputy was at the courthouse extension, Hill pulled into the parking lot driving the car in question. She was stopped.
Hill said she is the “every day driver” of the car and denied taking it without the owner’s permission.
She was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and will report to court on June 25.
