Fressell’s car hit a sport utility vehicle heading westbound U.S. 98 at the intersection of Airport Road. The wreck injured two individuals, a man and woman who have not been identified.

A medical helicopter transported the man to a trauma center in Pensacola. According to the report, the crash caused the two individuals serious injury to their face that will leave a scar and possibly permanent disfigurement.

All westbound lanes were shut down for about an hour after the wreck, according to Philip Metz, medical division chief for the Destin Fire Department. Traffic was rerouted down Airport Road and Commons Drive.

Immediately after the crash, Fressell got out of her car and attempted to hide a bottle of wine from view, the report said. Witnesses told deputies at the scene and they were able to find the concealed bottle.

Fressell displayed signs of impairment and refused to submit to a blood test voluntarily. She was arrested at the scene.

Fressell is scheduled to appear in court June 25.
