MILTON— Roads have been reopened after smoke from a brush fire on Ward Basin Road at New Lake Road created a hazard.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies stopped traffic at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the intersections of Casa Grande Drive and Ward Basin Road as well as Putnam Road and Ward Basin Road, Joy Tsubooka, Santa Rosa County public information officer, wrote in an email.
East Milton, Bagdad, and Skyline fire departments along with Florida Forest Service responded to the scene, Tsubooka wrote.
The 2-acre fire has been contained, said Joe Zwierzchowski, Wildfire Mitigation Specialist with the Blackwater District of the Florida Forest Service.
