GULF BREEZE - A wildfire along Stanford Road near the Garcon Point Bridge was 75 percent contained Wednesday night, according to the Florida Forest Service.
Firefighters had been battling the fire since about 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Forest Service. At its height Wednesday morning, the blaze had spread to about 80 acres.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Wednesday evening. Lightning and arson have been ruled out, likely making it “human caused,” or “accidental,” according to the Forest Service.
Firefighters were still on the scene late Wednesday.
