CRESTVIEW -- A 27-year-old man with no known address was arrested April 19 after causing a disturbance while trying to break into a vending machine.
The suspect was kicking the machine and creating a loud noise, when a man asked him to stop, according to his Crestview Police Department arrest report.
The suspect's response was to call the complainant a racial slur. The investigator heard the suspect use the racial slur toward the African American complainant repeatedly, the report said.
The investigator said the suspect's actions disturbed the peace and quiet.
The suspect was charged with disorderly conduct.
