DORCAS — Deputies are investigating a shooting death that occurred early Sunday morning.
Thomas Rangely, 56, died after he was shot in the chest at a trailer at 5485 County Road 393 about 2 a.m., according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Rangely was a visitor at the home. He and the shooter knew each other, said Michele Nicholson, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.
Several people were at the trailer during the shooting.
Deputies were still interviewing the witnesses later Sunday to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting and to determine what the next steps will be, Nicholson said.
No charges had been filed by Sunday evening.
When deputies arrived at thes scene, they found Rangely insde the trailer. He was still alive, but died a short time later at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
His permanent address had not been released Sunday evening.
