Two in critical condition following Thursday wreck

A Thursday afternoon crash that critically injured two women in north Santa Rosa County is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol, according to the agency's media release.

Two young children were also taken to the hospital following the accident.

Danielle T. Williams, a 25-year-old resident of the Pace community, was traveling west on Quintette Road when her vehicle was struck head-on by a car driven by Bridget M. Allen of Molino, according to the FHP. Allen drove left of the centerline to strike Williams' vehicle, the release said.

Both women were taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola in critical condition. Allen had two children in her car, both of whom were also taken to Sacred Heart. Five-year-old Bailey Allen was in serious condition, the release said. One-year-old Brooklynn Allen had minor injuries.

Quintette Road remained closed for two hours following the accident.
