No one injured in kitchen fire

NAVARRE - No one was injured in a kitchen fire in a home on Woodmont Street on Wednesday night, according to the Holley-Navarre firefighters.

Crews from Holley-Navarre, Midway, Navarre Beach and Florosa were called to the home about 10:40 p.m., Holley-Navarre Battalion Chief Howie Rounsaville said.

The family had been away for about three hours, Rounsaville said. A stove burner that was left on caused the fire.

The blaze was contained to the kitchen, but the entire home sustained smoke and water damage. Rounsaville estimated the damage at $30,000 to $40,000.

Two dogs in the house suffered breathing problems were taken to an emergency veterinary clinic in Pensacola.
