Smoke advisory issued for area of Yellow River Bridge

MILTON—Eglin Air Force Base has a controlled burn near Yellow River Bridge, or State Road 87, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 1,200-acre fire is south of Yellow River and 5 miles east of SR 87, the FHP reported. Drivers may see smoke throughout the night near SR 87, Interstate 10, and U.S. Highway 90 in the Milton area.

Drivers are asked to be cautious in those areas, especially in the evening or early morning hours when smoke and fog can combine, the FHP advised.

Drivers should not speed, look for advisory signs, and use headlights on low beam, the FHP advised.
