CRESTVIEW – A woman who was clocked driving 68 mph in a 35 mph zone was arrested after lawmen found drugs in her vehicle.
On April 15 an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy determined the woman, 32-year-old Jessica Ruth Carter of Phoenix, Ariz., was driving 68 mph at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Lindberg Street, which is a posted 35 mph zone.
When she was stopped, Carter exhibited signs of impairment, the deputy noted. She was arrested and charged with DUI.
When her Jeep was searched prior to towing, lawmen found a container in Carter’s purse that contained six Percocet pills, and nine Xanax pills. Carter couldn’t produce a prescription for either.
She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and has a May 28 court date.
