CRESTVIEW — A 15-year-old boy faces up to 40 years in prison after he pleaded no contest to the charges of attempted robbery with a firearm, shooting into a vehicle, burglary of a conveyance and grand theft auto.

James Jamone Jackson faces a minimum 25 years in prison if he is treated as an adult at his sentencing May 29 before Okaloosa County Circuit Judge Michael Flowers, according to the state attorney’s office.

Jackson approached a vehicle with a firearm on May 31, 2012, and demanded money from the driver, according to the state attorney’s office. The driver pulled away and Jackson fired into the vehicle and hit a passenger.

Crestview police investigated the case and Assistant State Attorney Kimberly Torres was the prosecutor.
