Several scam attempts have been reported by two senior citizens, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
A 90-year-old Shalimar woman said two men, one with a Jamaican accent, called to say she won a new Mercedes, the Sheriff's Office reported. Another caller said her grandson needed bond money to be released from jail in Canada.
An 82-year-old Bluewater Bay woman reported that someone with a Jamaican accent and an 862 area code called to say she won the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.
Neither woman shared any personal information with the callers.
