CRESTVIEW – A Crestview man was arrested after he punched his girlfriend in the mouth, then pulled a knife and threatened to cut himself to avoid going to jail, lawmen say.
On March 17 a Crestview Police officer investigated the alleged battery at a Wilson Street residence. The officer was told by the apparent victim that her boyfriend punched her in the face during an argument, splitting her lip.
He then pulled out a knife and said he was going to stab himself to avoid going to jail. The woman sent her children to a nearby business to call police.
The officer noted the cut to the woman’s lip.
The man, who is 38, was charged with battery – domestic violence. His court date is April 9.
