GULF BREEZE — A 52-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after wreck his motorcycle and hitting his head on the roadway.
Riki Hanks of Gulf Breeze was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 98 near Crane Cove Boulevard when he lost control of his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.
The motorcycle fell on its right side and slid westbound on U.S. 98. Hanks was thrown from the bike and hit his head on the pavement. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash caused around $2,000 in damages to the motorcycle.
Hanks was taken to Baptist Hospital for his injuries. Alcohol was not considered a factor.
No charges will be filed, according to FHP.
