BRUCE - The emergency shelter at Bruce United Methodist Church has closed as the Choctawhatchee River began to recede Thursday afternoon, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.
No one had used the shelter since it opened Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office reported.
The river was at 18.6 feet at 8:01 a.m. Thursday.
