CRESTVIEW — Kenneth Ben Williams will spend 25 years in prison for trafficking methamphetamine.
Williams, who was sentenced Thursday, was arrested June 25, 2012, with more than 200 grams of meth after he was pulled over by Crestview police for driving on a suspended license.
A jury found Williams guilty of the trafficking charge Jan. 23. The sentence handed down Thursday by Okaloosa County Circuit Judge Michael Flowers included a 15-year minimum mandatory prison term and a $250,000 fine.
The minimum mandatory sentence was imposed because of the amount of meth Williams possessed, said Kimberly Torres, who prosecuted the case.
“I feel like the sentence was appropriate based on the circumstances and his previous behavior,” Torres said.
Williams, 22, of Crestview, had at least one other narcotics conviction and a history of domestic violence, according to the county Clerk of Court website.
